Our Story

 

Corralea Activity Centre Ltd. is a family run business established since 1994, when the opportunity arose to purchase a 16 acres site with a few self-catering cottages on the shores of Upper Lough Macnean, both Marius & Isabelle embraced the idea. And so...Corralea Activity Centre was born.. The centre is now run by their children & the younger generation. 

 

The centre has grown over the years:

  • In 1997, an outdoor purpose built climbing wall (the first in Ireland) was added 

  • In 2000, we introduced the first Water trampoline which would grow over the years into Corralea Waterpark

  • A new wheelchair friendly cottage was built in 2003

  • In 2006, we worked with Green Box to obtain the EU Eco Flower certification, measures were taken to minimise our impact on the environment and reduce our energy use: solar panels, wood stoves, recycling waste, green activities

  • Nature trails and biking trails were developed in the forest

  • Most recently, a Forest Eco Spa was installed on the shores of the lake

  • In 2021, Corralea Activity Centre Ltd came under new management & original owners Isabelle & Marius now run Corralea Cottages.

 

Corralea Activity Centre offers a wide range of eco friendly Outdoor activities to families, couples & groups of friends.

 

With a strong family ethos and a genuine interest in the environment,  our passionate belief in sustainable and responsible tourism remains at the heart of the business with the youthful input of the new generation.
